abstract The present invention relates to the use of canthaxanthin and one or more vitamin D metabolites, preferably 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25-OH D3), to improve internal egg quality. The internal egg quality, generally expressed in heavy rainfall, is maintained by feeding the laying poultry with a diet containing canthaxanthin and 25-hydroxyvitamin D3.
