A multilayer ceramic capacitor capable of thinning a dielectric ceramic layer without deteriorating dielectric constant temperature characteristics and reliability at high temperatures is provided. The dielectric ceramic constituting the dielectric ceramic layer of the multilayer ceramic capacitor comprises a perovskite type compound containing Ba and Ti, Ca, R (R is rare earth element such as La), M (M is Mn etc.) . Ca is 0.5 to 2.5 molar parts, R is 0.5 to 4 molar parts, M is 0.5 to 2 molar parts, and Si is 1 to 4 molar parts when the Ti content is 100 molar parts.
