The present application relates to a method for producing polymer particles in the form of a gel and a carbon material produced therefrom. The carbon material includes improved electrochemical properties and finds utility as electrode materials in numerous electrical devices, such as ultracapacitors or batteries. The methods described herein can also be used to improve emulsification and / or suspension polymerization methods, generally by improved control of acidic and basic species between the polymer and the secondary phase. |
