The present invention relates to a two-step enzyme reaction for producing adipic acid (adipate) through 6-oxohexanoate (6-aminocaproic acid) and 6-oxohexanoate (adipate semialdehyde). More specifically, 6-oxohexanoate was converted to 4-aminobutyrate transaminase (2.6.1.19) from 6-oxohexanoate to adipic acid by 6-oxohexanoate dehydrogenase (1.2.1.63) in aminocaproic acid . |
