abstract |
The present invention provides a fusion protein comprising an N-terminal signal peptide fused to a polypeptide. The immunogenic polypeptide may be from viruses, bacteria or fungi. The present invention also provides for increased expression of immunogenic polypeptides using N-terminal signal peptides. N-terminal signal peptides increase protein synthesis, especially when the protein is neither secreted nor membrane permeable. Fusion proteins can be used to diagnose disease and induce immune responses. |
