A novel material which is useful as an organic electroluminescent material and which is characterized in that three 5-membered rings are condensed on a benzene ring and a saturated or unsaturated ring is condensed on the 5-membered ring to form a heterocycle represented by the following formula (1) A material for an organic electroluminescent device using the same, and an organic electroluminescent device and an electronic device using the same. In the formula (1), X 1 to X 3 are each independently a linking group represented by any of the following formulas (2) to (5), and one or two of X 1 to X 3 are represented by the formula 2), and the remainder is represented by any of formulas (3) to (5). |
