| abstract |
The present disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for displaying images. One such device comprises an array of display elements coupled to a substrate and an elevated aperture layer (EAL) floating over the array of display elements. The EAL is coupled to the substrate and includes, for each of the display elements, at least one aperture for allowing passage of light through the EAL. The method of fabricating such a device includes the steps of forming an etch hole through the EAL, using a sacrificial mold that is at least partially sublimable, using a two-phase release process, and a portion of the sacrificial mold surrounding portions of the device And releasing the device to be retained. |
