titleOfInvention Temperature sensing catheter
abstract An improved catheter is disclosed. The catheter has an inflation lumen reinforced through a metal support, such as a coil, to prevent contraction and collapse of the dilatation lumen, which leaves a minimal impact on the size of the catheter. The catheter may be manufactured by permanently incorporating the temperature sensing strip into the catheter during the manufacturing process. The onsensing strip can wirelessly transmit information related to the temperature of the patient to an external display, which can be viewed by a care provider. It is also preferred that the drain lumen of the catheter has a treatment or hydrophobic coating and / or is formed to include a microstructure surface design pattern, such as a superhydrophobic patterned surface.
