The present invention is directed to a non-invasive injectable composition comprising Type I collagen, an osteogenic growth factor (OSF) such as a bone morphogenetic protein, and a thermostable-biodegradable polymer such as Poloxamer 407 in an aqueous vehicle. The formulation can be administered non-invasively, e.g., by injection, to overcome the limitations of many currently marketed bone-derived products. The injectable bone forming agent effectively induces bone formation at the desired site. Such injectable suspensions may be used in conjunction with bioerodible bone composites (such as hydroxyapatite, tri-calcium phosphate) and / or glycosaminoglycans (such as hyaluronic acid, heparin sulfate) Lt; RTI ID = 0.0 > and / or < / RTI > slabs as implants. |
