The present invention relates to activatable inorganic nanoparticles that can be used in the health field, particularly human health, to disturb, alter or destroy target cancerous cells, tissues or organs. More particularly, the present invention relates to nanoparticles that are capable of producing surprisingly effective therapeutic effects when enriched in tumors and exposed to ionizing radiation. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising a population of nanoparticles as defined above, and uses thereof. |
