The present invention relates to an antioxidant composition comprising an extract of red tea stems as an active ingredient wherein the extract of red tea stems is obtained by extracting red tea stems which is a by-product of red tea. The extract of red tea stems of the present invention is capable of preventing and treating cancer, cardiovascular diseases, arthritis and Parkinson′s disease caused by oxygen free radicals and can be effectively used as a health functional food, an additive for preventing oxidation of foods, and cosmetics for preventing skin aging or preventing skin damage caused by ultraviolet rays. |
