titleOfInvention Flexible harmonic waveguides/blades for surgical instruments
abstract In one embodiment, the surgical instrument includes a harmonic waveguide capable of articulation. The harmonic waveguide capable of articulating includes a first drive section including a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end of the first drive section may be configured to be coupled to an ultrasonic transducer. The articulatable harmonic waveguide further comprises a first flexible waveguide coupled to a distal end of the first drive section. The end effector extends in a distal direction from the first flexible waveguide. The surgical instrument further comprises an articulation actuator for bending the first flexible waveguide.
