Methods for producing cells having a phenotype of a primary human hepatocytes and compositions |
abstract |
The present disclosure provides methods and compositions relating to in vitro cultures of human hepatocellular cell lines expressing a primary human hepatocyte phenotype. Such cell lines are sensitive to infection by hepatitis B virus, such as HCV or HBV, and support both viral replication and high level viral particle production. Such in vitro cultures provide for the generation and study of hepatitis viruses and also for screening methods (e.g., methods for evaluating drug metabolism for antiviral drugs) and for the study of primary human hepatocytes do. |
