abstract An improved method and apparatus for performing endoscopic surgery is provided. The system suggests treatment of gastrointestinal disturbances with endoscopic surgery in a minimally invasive manner in a stable, non-dynamic surgical environment. Such a system includes, for example, an endoscopic surgical set. The surgical set may have a reversibly expandable retractor that expands to provide a stable surgical environment within the subject. The inflation may be asymmetric around the stabilizer subsystem to maximize the tool and endoscope space independently manipulated to visualize the target tissue and treat the target tissue outside the patient in a minimally invasive fashion.
