The present inventors have demonstrated that?,? - Dimethylacrylshikonin sensitizes the response of cancer cells to ionizing radiation through the increase of ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species). The present invention is characterized by being a radiation sensitizing agent for cancer cells containing?,? - Dimethylacrylshikonin as an active ingredient. Further, the method is characterized in that β, β-Dimethylacrylshikonin is used to sensitize cancer cells to radiation.
