The graphene produced by medium ball milling has a very small particle size, a relatively high surface area and an inherent aspect ratio. It is inherently suitable for making nano-composites or coatings by coating or mixing other particles. The metal or metal oxide may be coated with a high surface area relatively low aspect ratio graphene, or formed into a composite. When the added particles are larger than graphene, they are coated with graphene, and when they are about the same size, a nano-composite is formed. The nanocomposites are useful for electrodes, particularly electrodes for batteries and supercapacitor products. |
