A 3-arc shaped filament can be made using a spinneret with a tri-arc hole. In some examples, the three-arcuate hole has a Y-shape with three prongs, each branch having an arc at the end of the fork, tapering from the end of the arc to the connecting point of the adjacent arc, do. 3-arcuate filaments have a generally Y-shaped cross-section with a bulbous tip or arcing tip. In addition, 3-arcuate filaments may be useful in a number of applications including, but not limited to, filters, filters including particulate additives, and smoking device filters. |
