Disclosed is a separator and an electrochemical device including the separator. The separator according to the present invention comprises a nonwoven fabric substrate having a plurality of pores formed with fibers and formed with pores between the fibers and a polymer coating layer formed on part or all of the surfaces of the fibers, A tensile strength of 80 MPa or more, a tensile elastic modulus and a flexural modulus of 3,000 MPa or more, respectively. INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY The separator according to the present invention can reduce the manufacturing cost of the electrochemical device and can control the size of the pores existing in the nonwoven fabric substrate, thereby preventing the occurrence of leakage current and improving the mechanical strength. |
