abstract Sensors are provided that combine monolithic integrated pixel-processed aluminum nanowires with vertical stacked photodetectors. Aluminum nanowires are arranged as a collection of 2x2 pixels or superpixels. Each superpixel comprises four differently oriented nanowires offset by 45 degrees. Thus, the optical field is sampled with 0 DEG, 45 DEG, 90 DEG and 135 DEG linear polarization filters. Because of spatial subsampling, interpolation can be applied to reconstruct the entire 0 °, 45 °, 90 °, and 135 ° arrays.
