abstract | The present invention relates to a method for producing a microorganism, comprising: a) autolysing a microorganism under conditions wherein a substantial portion of the RNA remains in a form capable of degrading to 5 '-ribonucleotides; b) solid / liquid separation of the autolysate and recovery of the RNA-containing cell wall fraction; And c) converting the RNA in the recovered RNA-containing cell wall fraction to a 5 ' -ribonucleotide, wherein the solid / liquid separation of step b) is carried out at a pH of less than 5.1. The method can produce a simple, highly pure 5 ' -ribonucleotide composition. It can also produce very clean yeast extracts. |
