abstract |
There is provided a filtration medium and a matrix comprising a micronized powder of an ion exchange resin and a polymeric binder. The resin may be micronized to an average particle size in the range of 50 to 250 micrometers, and the resin may include a cation exchange resin, an anion exchange resin, a chelating resin, a biologically related ion exchange resin, or a combination thereof. The medium may further comprise activated carbon. The binder may be ultra high molecular weight polyethylene. Matrices and systems can be prepared using filtration media. Methods of making and using the same are also provided. |
