| abstract |
Electrodes for lithium ion batteries generally include an active layer and a current collector. The active layer comprises a plurality of composite electrode pellets that are non-rigid and comprise an active material and a binder material. The active layer is located on the first surface of the current collector. The active layer has a total porosity of greater than about 40%. The total porosity includes both the porosity in the pellet and the porosity between the pellets. The electrodes consist of chemistry suitable for use with lithium-ion batteries. |
