abstract |
An improved silicon / germanium nanoparticle ink is disclosed having well dispersed silicon / germanium nanoparticles in a stable dispersion. In particular, the ink is treated by a centrifugation process to remove contaminants as well as less dispersed dispersion fractions. It is observed that by using ultrasonic treatment after the centrifugation, a remarkable improvement in ink quality can be obtained. The silicon / germanium ink characteristics can be controlled by a specific application method such as spin coating or screen printing. A suitable method of manufacturing that provides flexibility in ink design without surface modification of the silicon / germanium nanoparticles is disclosed. The silicon / germanium nanoparticles are particularly suitable for manufacturing semiconductor components such as thin film transistors or solar cell contacts. |
