abstract |
The present invention generally relates to a process for producing polyethylene, poly-alpha-olefin or poly (co-ethylene-alpha-olefin) having a backbone weight average molecular weight of less than 2,500 daltons. Such a method may be carried out using a metal-ligand complex as a precatalyst and at a temperature in the range of 30 < 0 > C to 300 < 0 > C. The relatively low molecular weight products allow for improved viscosity control over a wide range of applications. |
