abstract |
In the present invention, a polyester composition providing greater throughput in the calendering process is prepared from a crystallization half-life of at least 5 minutes, an intrinsic viscosity of 0.55 to 0.75 dL / g, a polyester with branched monomers, and a release additive can do. The polyester composition exhibits a combination of excellent melt strength and good shear reaction allowing a higher calendaring linear velocity before melt cracking takes place. Also disclosed are a process for producing a film or sheet by calendering the composition and a film or sheet produced therefrom. In addition, the polyester compositions, films, or sheets may include plasticizers and / or flame retardants to increase their flexibility and enable them to be used in commercial applications requiring salt resistance. The films and sheets have excellent appearance and can be used for a wide range of decorative and packaging applications. |
