abstract |
The present invention relates to a poly-alpha-olefin or poly (co-ethylene-alpha-olefin) having a main chain weight average molecular weight of less than 10,000 daltons. The dielectric composition exhibits good flow characteristics combined with a high ignition point due to the use of metal-ligand-complexes as precatalysts and the ability to increase molecular weight through branching rather than backbone structure, which allows low viscosity, and thus main chain growth . Other desirable properties include reduced pour point due to crystallization disruption, and favorable thermal oxidation stability. |
