abstract | The present disclosure features a high-intensity discharge lamp 10 that includes an electrically insulated arc tube 14 constructed of a light transmission material. The electrical conductors 28, 30 or electrodes are spaced apart from each other within the arc tube. A shroud (12) composed of a light transmission material seals the arc tube. The electrically conductive frame members 16, 18 are disposed within the shroud and are electrically connected to one of the electrical conductors. The ignition aid 75 comprises a coil of electrically conductive wire electrically attached to the frame member and disposed about the arc tube. |
