An X-ray imaging apparatus and a control method thereof according to an aspect of the present invention provide an X-ray imaging apparatus for estimating an energy response characteristic of an X-ray detection unit and correcting distortion of X-ray data based on the estimated response characteristic and a control method thereof. An X-ray imaging apparatus according to one aspect of the present invention includes an X-ray generator for generating and irradiating an X-ray; An x-ray detector for detecting the irradiated x-ray to acquire x-ray data; And a controller for converting the X-ray data into X-ray characteristic coordinates, and estimating a response characteristic function of the X-ray detector from the relationship between the measurement data converted into the X-ray characteristic coordinates and the reference data. |
