abstract | The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a functional food composition containing cordycepin as an active ingredient for inducing the apoptosis of colon cancer cells. More specifically, the cordycepin included as an active ingredient in the pharmaceutical composition and the functional food composition, which are effective for colon cancer, in order to induce the apoptosis of colon cancer cells is separated from a Cordyceps crude extract or a Cordyceps non-polar solvent-soluble extract which is a natural material. In the present invention, the pharmaceutical composition and functional food composition exhibit cytotoxicity against colon cancer cells so as to be effective for colon cancer, by means of the cordycepin which induces apoptosis and controls cell proliferation by generating ROS, promoting p53 mechanism-related protein activity, and promoting DR3 mechanism-related protein expression. |
