Disclosed are solvent-based or UV curable fugitive ink compositions for application to a substrate on which indicia is to be provided. The ink composition may include one or more halochromic compounds and one or more filler compounds and prevent the heat-treated indicias formed with the thermally insoluble ink in the area of the substrate having the variable ink composition from being invisible to the naked eye. |
