titleOfInvention Methods of reducing or eliminating protein modification and degradation arising from exposure to uv light
abstract Methods of inactivating viruses in samples containing protein components are provided. Also provided are methods of reducing proteolysis or modification in the presence of reactive species, e. G., Reactive species resulting from UV exposure. In another aspect, there is provided a method for reducing the oxidation of methionine, tryptophan, or both methionine and tryptophan residues in a protein that undergoes UV light. The disclosed methods can be performed on any scale and can be automated as needed.
