Also, in one or more embodiments, methods and materials are provided for inhibiting amylose ploid-induced mature neuronal cell death. In one aspect, the invention relates to the use of Na + / K + -ATPase alpha 3 as the binding target molecule of amylose ferroide. In another aspect, the present invention relates to a method for inhibiting amylose pheolide-induced mature neuronal cell death, which comprises inhibiting the interaction between amylose ferroide and Na + / K + -ATPase alpha 3 protein.
