Provided is a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal alignment film capable of enhancing anisotropy and suppressing unevenness caused by processing. A film obtained by coating and firing a liquid crystal aligning agent containing at least one kind of polymer selected from the group consisting of polyimide and a precursor of the polyimide on a substrate is irradiated with polarized radiation, (A-2), (A-3), (A-4) and .
