Multiparticulate L-Menthol formulation and related methods |
abstract |
The present application discloses enteric coated multi-particulate formulations using L-menthol as the active ingredient. In one embodiment, the multiparticulate formulation comprises a plurality of microparticles with reduced release under stoichiometric conditions and increased release at neutral pH. The microparticles comprise a core comprising L-menthol as an active ingredient. The L-menthol is fed to the core in an amount of at least 80% pure L-menthol material. Enteric coating is present on the core. The enteric coating is effective to release about 80% or more of L-menthol in about 2 hours in a substantially neutral pH environment. Other aspects of the invention include methods of making and using multiparticulate formulations. |
