abstract |
A method and apparatus are disclosed for establishing reliable local time based on a reliable computing method. Concepts scales because the reliable external time source can be graded by the frequency and accuracy available for modification and / or reset and by how reliable the external time source is in a commercial scenario. This technique also considers that the number of different paths and the number of hops between the device and the trusted external time source may vary. The local clock related values protected by the TPM are securely coupled to the external clock.
