abstract The present invention discloses a complete process for producing polyester products from newly harvested lignocellulosic biomass. The process steps include pretreatment of the biomass and conversion of the re-grein into one of several possible organic streams by deoxygenation and dehydrogenation in the presence of Raney nickel catalyst, separating the organics, and then separating the organics into poly Ester feedstock, and converting the feedstock to a polyester.
