It has been found that feeding a composition comprising activating growth factor (s) increases the feed to gain ratio, increases overall body weight gain, reduces essential antibiotic or electrolyte treatment, and reduces animal mortality. The composition is induced by first separating the growth factor (s) from a source such as whey or blood, then applying the factor to the activation method and providing the activation growth factor to the animal. Feed additives containing an appropriate amount of activating growth factor show improved results over standard supplement therapy. The activating growth factor is applied by topical, injection or oral application. |
