The present invention provides a liquid crystal composition applicable to an active matrix (AM) element and having a nematic phase and positive dielectric anisotropy, and an AM liquid crystal display device comprising the liquid crystal composition. Based on the total weight of the liquid crystal composition, the liquid crystal composition is 8% to 50% of the compound represented by the following formula (I), 10% to 70% (weight) of the compound represented by the following formula (II), and the following formula ( 5% to 50% by weight of the compound represented by III). |
