abstract Disclosed is a high-speed multicast traffic handover method in the PMIPv6. The method provides a multicast LMA and a handover scheme to efficiently support multicasting in the PMIPv6. The method solves the tunneling superposition phenomenon by adding a multicast LMA responsible for managing the multicast traffic. Also, the method provides a way to add a multicast LMAA in an MN-profile to distinguish a general LMA responsible for unicast traffic of a MN in MAG.
