titleOfInvention α sialon, light emitting device and use thereof
abstract Provided are an α-sialon and a light-emitting device in which Eu is revived to realize high luminance of light-emitting devices such as white LEDs. α type sialon is a general formula: (M) x (Eu) y (Si) 12- (m + n) (Al) m + n (O) n (N) 16-n (wherein M is Li, Mg, Ca, 1 and at least one element containing Ca selected from the group consisting of Y and lanthanide elements (except La and Ce)), consisting of an α-sialon in which Eu is dissolved, The 50% area average diameter of the primary particles is 5 µm or more, and preferably the ratio of the 50% area average diameter of the primary particles to the 50% area average diameter of the secondary particles of the α-sialon is 0.56 or more. The light emitting device 10 includes a light emitting light source 12 and a wavelength converting member 15, and the wavelength converting member 15 absorbs near ultraviolet to blue light generated from the light emitting light source 12, and yellow to orange. Α type sialon 18 for generating light.
