Systems and methods for non-invasively determining in vivo oxygenation of tissues, such as, for example, muscles, use optical methods to obtain information of the tissue optically within both the visible wavelength range and the near infrared (NIR) wavelength range. do. The illumination light is shaped within an intensity that approximately matches the absorption spectrum, including, for example, visible light having an intensity greater than one order than the NIR light. Training data are obtained from healthy patients simultaneously in both visible and NIR ranges and used to calculate muscle oxygenation. |
