abstract The present application discloses a hydroxyphenyl ketone-binaphthol derivative represented by the formula (1) and an optical splitting method of racemic amino acids using the same. Since the hydroxyphenyl ketone-binaphthol derivatives according to the present invention have superior chiral selectivity than conventional binafitol derivatives, they can be used very effectively for chiral selective liquid-liquid extraction of amino acids, and are also excellent in solubility.
