The present invention provides a lithium ion secondary battery characterized in that a compound containing at least one thiol (-SH) group in the molecule is provided inside the unit cell of the battery. In the present invention, by using a thiol group-containing compound which is excellent in reactivity with copper or copper ions, copper ions present in the battery or generated during operation of the battery are formed into dendrite by reduction at the negative electrode surface, and such dendrite. Internal short phenomenon between the positive electrodes can be prevented. |
