abstract |
The present invention relates generally to a process for the conversion of glucose to caprolactam using chemical catalyst oxidation and reduction reactions. The present invention also includes a method for the conversion of glucose to caprolactam via amido polyhydroxy acid products and amidocaproic acid or derivatives thereof. The present invention also provides a process for catalytic oxidation of amidopolyols to amido polyhydroxy acids or derivatives thereof, and catalytic hydrodeoxidation of amino or amido polyhydroxy acids or derivatives thereof to amino or amidocaproic acid products. How to digest. The amino or amidocaproic acid product can then be converted to caprolactam. The present invention also encompasses products produced by such methods and products that can be produced from such products. |
