2-Part Electrotransfer Device |
abstract |
A switch action therapeutic delivery device is described. The device includes two parts that are assembled by the user prior to use. The first portion includes a power supply and a circuit for the device and the second portion includes reservoirs for storing the electrodes and the therapeutic agent to be delivered. Combining the two parts of the device causes the two parts to be coupled together irreversibly, completes the electrical connection between the two parts, and closes one or more switches, thereby closing a power source such as a battery. The device is powered on so that the device is ready for use by connecting to the circuit of the device. The device can then be attached to a patient who can operate the device by pressing the buttons in the appropriate sequence. |
