abstract | A coating system and method for uniformly coating an object is disclosed. The system includes a pretreatment unit, a first processing unit, a first aftertreatment unit and one or more coating devices each configured to engage the object and rotate the object about or around two or more axes. The coating apparatus used in the system includes a first gimbal coupled to a first rotational mechanism that allows the first gimbal to rotate about or about a first axis, and a first gimbal coupled to the first gimbal to enable rotation about or about the second axis. A second gimbal, and a third gimbal connected to the second gimbal to allow rotation about or about the third axis. The second rotation mechanism is connected to the second gimbal to cause the second gimbal to rotate around or around the second axis and the third rotation mechanism is connected to the third gimbal to cause the second gimbal to rotate around or around the third axis. . The object holder is connected to the third gimbal. When the object is in an object holder, it can be dipped in the coating solution to form a coated object.
