(Solution means) The slurry composition for lithium ion secondary battery negative electrodes which concerns on this invention is a slurry composition for lithium ion secondary battery negative electrodes containing a negative electrode active material, a water-dispersion type binder, and water, The specific surface area of a negative electrode active material is 3.0-20.0 m <2> / g, the aqueous dispersion binder comprises a polymer containing a dicarboxylic acid group-containing monomer unit and a sulfonic acid group-containing monomer unit, and the content ratio of the dicarboxylic acid group-containing monomer unit in the polymer is 2 to 10 mass%. The content ratio of the sulfonic acid group-containing monomer unit is 0.1 to 1.5 mass%, and the content of potassium ions in the slurry composition is 1000 ppm or less with respect to 100 mass% of the slurry composition.
