Bacteriostatic tissue products |
abstract |
Tissue products are described that include an additive composition on at least the surface of a fibrous article to increase the surface potential of the article while maintaining or improving manufacturing efficiency. The additive composition comprises a bacteriostatic component, more preferably a water soluble adhesive component and a bacteriostatic component. In some aspects, the additive may also contain additional water soluble modifier components. Tissue products according to the present disclosure may attract negatively charged materials, such as bacteria, into the tissue web. Therefore, the tissue product may help to prevent bacteria from spreading to other surfaces by collecting the bacteria from the surface and substantially retaining the bacteria in the sheet. |
