abstract A method of recording a volume reflection hologram image to be seen when illuminated by light at the wavelength Wv is described. The method optically connects a first surface of a transparent holographic recording medium having a refractive index n and a first transparent refractive medium that is photosensitive to external light provided at a wavelength W different from the wavelength Wv, and connects the hologram recording medium to the hologram. Exposing to a reference coherent light source and a signal coherent light source comprising an image or other information to be recorded on a recording medium, the signal coherent light source and the reference coherent light source passing through the opposing surfaces to the hologram recording medium. Enters and emits light of wavelength W, the signal coherent light source or reference coherent light source passes through the first transparent refractive medium at an angle of incidence greater than arcsin (1 / n) before entering the holographic recording medium.
