The present invention relates to novel brassin multistines having increased sweetness, nucleic acid molecules encoding the mutants, recombinant vectors comprising the nucleic acid molecules, host cells transformed with the recombinant vectors, methods of producing the variants, As an active ingredient. The brassin mutant of the present invention has a sweetness of about 2,000 times or more higher than that of sucrose (sugar) in the same amount, and the sweetness is remarkably improved even in comparison with the wild type bradine and the conventionally developed bradine mutant. Therefore, the bradylan variant of the present invention can be used in substitution of other sweetening agents such as sugar in foods, by using a very small amount to give a desired sweet taste. |
